In a heartbreaking incident on Sunday, three men tragically drowned while swimming in the sea at Chandrabhaga beach in Odisha's Puri district, according to police reports.
The unfortunate event took place near the renowned Konark temple, as the men were enjoying a bath in the ocean, a senior police official stated.
Two of the victims were residents of Bhubaneswar, while the third was from Cuttack.
The officer explained that the two young men were caught in a strong current during high tide near the Eco Retreat center, while the third drowned in a nearby area.
Emergency responders, including fire brigade personnel and lifeguards stationed at the beach, quickly arrived at the scene and retrieved the bodies.
Despite efforts to save them, all three were pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
Witnesses noted that while Chandrabhaga beach is typically celebrated for its tranquil beauty, the sea conditions were particularly hazardous due to the full moon on that day.
